What is in this “loosening” of privacy protections?!

Absolutely, all sorts of mowing down of informed consent was enabled in recent history.

The inappropriateness of content for children’s developmental capacity is just bizarre.

I can tell you school boards *do* *not* *care*. I presented to my city's school board about the fact that Google PAID A SETTLEMENT to New Mexico about how much Google Classroom had spied on children in that state.

No interest. Blank stares. They do everything on Google platforms, including very creepy and invasive surveys about children's gender and sexuality. That a mega-corporation with no morals is squirreling away all this intimate information about future voters, consumers, and so on in its giant data banks: school boards do not care even one little bit.

I am so glad that I took my son out of public and put him into a Boy's private high school (he graduated in 2022). A few "amens" never hurt anyone!....he went to an Independent (catholic) faith based school....NOT Archdiocese. Unfortunately, my older daughter stayed in the public system and it has had a huge affect on her mental health as a young adult. She would NEVER have consented to leave her friends or her school community for a private school for 2 yrs. We thought she would be OK since she was the strong willed child and got grandfathered into the old system when CC started.
